To mark National Kick Butts Day (March 15), a program of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, more than 30 Kamiak students participated during their lunch breaks in an activity called “Not a Replacement,” in which students declared that they are not a replacement for the tobacco industry’s 1,300 American customers who die daily from tobacco-related illnesses.

Kathleen Everett, the school district’s prevention and intervention specialist, said students at Mariner High School would get a chance to take part in the activity during lunch breaks at their school on Thursday, March 16.
