Kosta’s restaurant has a new contemporary look
Kosta’s in Mukilteo recently added a star to the restaurant’s quality.
Kosta’s Mediterranean Cuisine, at 8306 Mukilteo Speedway, is newly remodeled to mix traditional Greek and contemporary American styles. The renovations were done by Mukilteo-based HC Construction.
Kosta Christopoulos, owner, head chef and restaurant namesake, said he and his wife remodeled in appreciation to their customers who have kept them in business for 17 years.
“We think our people deserve better and that there’s always room for improvement, no matter what business you’re in,” he said.
The restaurant was closed from Aug. 5 to Sept. 11 for renovations – to the inside and out.
Kosta’s has all new booths, tables, chairs, carpeting, lighting, fixtures and decor, as well as a new, full-service bar and touch-free restrooms. Outside, the restaurant has new siding, a new door, was repainted and has a repaved parking lot.
“We would like to offer our people more choices for beverages,” Kosta said of the new bar.
Kosta and Maria, both Greek, opened Kosta’s in 1996. The restaurant has been through three remodels. Kosta said customers have given lots of compliments on the newest look.
“This was more major of a change,” Kosta said. “It turned out better than we thought.
“We like it, and our people like it so far.”
After Maria was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, she could no longer be a part of the day-to-day work at the restaurant.
Despite that, Kosta made sure that Maria still had the last word in the choice of colors, furniture, decorations and overall style.
They both are proud to bring Greek culture and food to Mukilteo. Their menu is a combination of Kosta and Maria’s own creations and family recipes they grew up with.
Kosta's specialities include Saganaki (pan fried, imported Greek cheese), antipasto, dolmades, lamb, moussaka, Greek steak and spaghetti myzithra.
Kosta’s is open Monday-Sunday 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Call 425-355-2400 for reservations.
