Ladies to host charity tea at Mukilteo church | A&E brief
The Tea Ladies of Mukilteo Presbyterian Church are hosting their October charity tea Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Mukilteo church.
All proceeds from the event will go toward Operation Christmas Child, a project that sends shoeboxes filled with gifts to children in need around the world.
Tea will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy a menu of tea, coffee, sandwiches, scones, salads and assorted sweets. Take out orders for lunch are also available.
The Mukilteo Presbyterian Church will again collect shoeboxes and gifts for Operation Christmas Child. The annual project is a favorite of Mukilteo churches, businesses, schools and residents.
Mukilteo filled more than 11,900 shoeboxes with small items like toys, school supplies and hygiene items last year so that children all over the world could experience the joy of Christmas.
“You can bring gifts to the tea or to the church at anytime,” said Mim Loree, leader of the Tea Ladies. “We’ll be glad to take anything from anybody for the shoeboxes that MPC will be filling.”
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelical organization. It is the world's largest Christmas project of its kind.
Suggested donation is $6. The church is located at 4514 84th St. SW in Mukilteo. Call 425-355-9656 to order take out, or to reserve a table if you’re in a party of five or more.
