Liias too busy as senator to work full time | Letter
Editor, The Beacon:
According to The Beacon, "Senator Liias must spend 105 days in odd years and 60 days in even years in regular legislative sessions. Special sessions can keep him in Olympia for up to 30 more days,” [“Concerns arise over mayor’s newest hire,” The Beacon, front page, June 11].
Given the exclusions of weekends and legal holidays, and the need to serve on committees in Olympia, meet the needs of constituents in Mukilteo and the need to campaign for re-election, just how can Liias fulfill the new full-time position in Mukilteo?
Perhaps he can achieve world peace and find a cure for cancer, as well, in his spare time.
