Lottie Louise (Gallant) Elke went home to see her lord and family on Dec. 28, 2013.  Lottie was born in Yakima, Wash. on July 10, 1918 to Walter and Minnie Gallant.  Lottie was the third of nine children.

After graduating from High School, she went to work for J.C. Penny’s and during that time she met and married George (Gus) Elke.  During  World War II, they moved  to Everett where Gus worked as an electrician in the Navy Ship Yards.  Five of her brothers and three brothers-in-law were all in the service.  All eight returned home safely.  She spent most of her time as a housewife only returning to the work force after her two sons grew up.  She worked for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 191.  She worked there for close to 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Gus Elke.  Her Mother and Father, her sister Lovern, brothers Harry, Herbert, Homer, Howard, Harvey, Herman and Horace.  She is survived by her two sons, Michael Edward Elke and Steven Harvey Elke (Steve’s wife Ellen).  She had many nephews and nieces and their families.

Per her request there will be no services and in lieu of flowers and to Honor her request, give someone you love a hug and tell them you love them as it may be the last time you see them.
