Man dies in rollover crash on SR-529
A Mukilteo man died in a rollover crash on SR-529 on June 21.
Kyle A. Finch, 26, was a passenger in a vehicle that struck the inside barrier of the highway near Steamboat Slough around 6:30 p.m. and rolled over, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The vehicle continued driving for just under a half mile before crashing into the forested median, said Aaron Snell, spokesperson for the Everett Police Department.
Finch was ejected during the rollover, and died at the scene.
The driver, a 54-year-old Bellevue man, was transported to the Colby Campus of the Providence Medical Center.
Witnesses told officers a vehicle was driving erratically when it struck the inside barrier, Snell said.
Snell said detectives believe drugs were a factor in the crash and that the driver was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide and hit-and-run.
Everett detectives are continuing their investigation, Snell said.
Northbound SR-529 was closed while detectives investigated the scene on June 21.
