Mariner beats Arlington 4-3 | Boys prep tennis

The Mariner boys tennis team won it’s second non-league match on Thursday, Sept. 26, beating Arlington 4-3.

In singles, Alex Hoang lost to Trent Sarver 7-5, 6-1, while Kal Johal lost to Connor Ghirardo 6-0, 6-2. Ferdinan Feliciano lost to Coleman Davis 6-1, 6-2 and Mariner’s Joseph Castro beat Jessie Vaughan 6-3, 6-3.

In doubles, David Chang and Jeffrey Choe beat Lucas Bynum and Rawley Davis 3-6, 6-0, 6-4, while Jignesh Trivedi and Sebastien Khoutxaysana beat Isaiah Mitzelifeld and Cameron Reece 6-1, 6-7 (3-7) 6-2. Oscar Ponce and Jesse Johal beat Hayden Bollinger and Connor Guthrie 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.

Mariner is now 1-5 in league matches and 2-5 overall. The team will host Mount Vernon on Monday, Sept. 30 in a 3:30 p.m. match
