Mariner beats Cascade 5-2 | Girls prep tennis

The Mariner girls tennis team earned its first league win of the spring season on Thursday, March 20, beating Cascade 5-2.

In singles, Mariner’s Angela Moniaga beat Carlie Newman 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (1), while Jale Beka beat Audrey Taber 6-4, 6-0. Phuong Van of Mariner beat Thao Nguyen 6-3, 6-0 and Thoung Pham lost to Cascade’s Emily Gonzalez 6-3, 6-1.

In doubles, Rachel Do and Rachel Ringoringo beat Rachelle Yap and Robianne Ramos 6-2, 6-2, while Puneet Dhaliwal and Isabelle Abarro lost to Cassidy McGehey and Alex Cizek 6-4, 6-2. Mariner’s Sarah Antoci and Shelby Holtzlider beat Roanne Ramos and Anneka Hilde 6-1, 6-1 to finished the match.

Mariner, now 1-0 this season, will play at Meadowdale on Friday, March 21 at 3:30 p.m.
