Mariner beats Mount Vernon | Boys prep swimming

The Mariner boys swim team earned it's first win of the year, beating Mount Vernon on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

The final score was 89-81 for the Marauders.

The Mariner team of Juan Cruz-Estrada, Jose Irizarry, Josue Angeles and Joseph Spath won the 200 medley relay in 1:55.42.

Spath also won the 50 freestyle in 24.13 seconds, while Angeles earned the win the 100 butterfly race in 1:01.88. Chris Cuellar won the 100 freestyle race in 56.19 seconds, and Angeles won the 500 freestyle race in 6:04.84.

Mariner's Spath, Cuellar, Angeles and Taylor Smith won the 400 freestyle race in 3:48.29.

The Marauders will take on Everett on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Park Pool.
