Mariner falls to Cascade | Prep football

The Mariner football team lost to Cascade on Friday, Sept. 24. The Bruins, now 4-0, are one of two teams still undefeated in the Wesco 4A South league.

Against the Marauders, Cascade won 51-34.

The Bruins scored twice in the first quarter, but Mariner attempted to even things out with 20 points of their own in the second.

Joshua Williamson scored the first Mariner points of the night, off a 1-yard run. He followed suit with an 11-yard run later in the quarter before adding a touchdown off a 13-yard pass from Nick Smith. But 14 second quarter points from Cascade tipped the halftime score for the Bruins. It was 28-20 for Cascade at halftime.

Mariner didn't score in the third quarter, an allowed 16 points by the Bruins, before Wiliamson made his fourth touchdown of the night off a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter, while teammate Dyonte Law scored the final points of the night off a 29-yard run.

Mariner is 0-1 in league play and 0-4 overall this season. The team Lynnwood at Goddard Field on Friday, Oct. 4 in a 7 p.m. game.
