Mariner falls to Edmonds-Woodway | Girls prep basketball

The Mariner girls basketball team lost a league match to Edmonds-Woodway on Monday, Dec. 23. The game, originally scheduled for last Friday, was canceled due to snow. The final score was 61-24.

The Warriors held a 18-2 at the end of the first quarter, and outscored the Marauders 14-9 in the second quarter for a 32-11 lead at halftime.

Edmonds-Woodway scored 22 points in the third quarter to Mariner’s eight, and outscored the Marauders 7-5 in the final minutes.

Naomi Eastland scored seven points during the loss, while Amela Grebovic, Realene Nicolas and Diana Dinh each scored three points and Emily Saga scored two points.

The Marauders are 0-3 in league and 0-6 overall this season. The team will play in the Overlake girls basketball tournament at Overlake High School starting on Friday, Dec. 27.
