Mariner falls to Lynnwood 7-0 | Boys prep tennis

The Mariner boys tennis team lost a league match to Lynnwood on Monday, Oct. 14. The final score was 7-0 for the Royals.

In singles matches, Alex Hoang lost 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) to Ryan Tsuji, while Jignesh Trivdi was beaten by Thu Yein 6-2, 6-2. Joseph Kestrel lost to Matthew Hwang 6-1, 6-2 and Chang Wu lost 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 to David Jorgenson.

In doubles matches, Jeffrey Choe and David Chang lost to Alex Mellen and Chuong Pham 6-2, 6-2. Kal Johal and Oscar Ponce lost to Htet Thu and Brandon Pel 6-4, 6-2 and Kevin Mach and Jesse Johal lost 6-4, 6-3 to Amer and Samer Kouttianay.

Mariner is 1-12 in league and 2-12 overall this season. The Marauders will finish the regular season with matches against Edmonds-Woodway on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and by hosting Kamiak on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Post season play will begin with the 4A south division tournament at Jackson on Oct. 22.
