Coach: Corey Gibb

Number of athletes: 38 on three teams

Last season: The Marauders were 0-20 and didn’t make the playoffs.

Strengths: “Athletically we’re better,” said returning head coach Gorey Gibb. “We’re a little vertically challenged, but if it was based just on heart they’d win every game. They always give me 100 percent.”

Focus: Gibb said the team is working on getting to know each other and the system.

Captains: Seniors Diana Dinh, Arnela Grebovic, Realene Nicolas and Naomi Eastland

Gibb said the team has seven seniors this year, the most in 20 years for the program, and all but one of the team’s four captains has played basketball all four years.

The captains said they are ready to play, and want to work on their teamwork, and growing closer as friends on and off the court.

Gibb and the captains both said the team’s main goal this season is to make it to the district playoffs.

Game to watch: Cascade, Kamiak and Marysville-Getchell

The Marauders will play at Cascade on Friday, Dec. 13, followed by hosting Kamiak on Dec. 18.
