Editor, The Beacon:

The Holiday Open House and Tree Lighting was a great success! We had more than 1,000 folks in attendance.

Buddy the Elf was a HUGE hit! The Mukilteo Lions assisted in keeping the line moving for Santa and Mrs. Claus and handed out candy canes.

The craft stations, Taekwondo activity, card making and cookie decorating were enjoyed, as were the performances by the Picnic Point, Columbia and Serene Lake elementary choirs, the Olympic View Middle School Jazz Band and Kamiak High School Barbershop Choirs!

Special thanks to Mayor Joe Marine for emceeing the performances and tree lighting.

Also, the Mukilteo Food Bank reported that 313 pounds of food was collected for them at the Tree Lighting on Saturday.

I feel blessed to live in such a generous community.
