Coach: Peggy Hess

Number of athletes: 15

Last season: The Knights finished the season 0-5 playing in the North South league.

Strengths: “We have a core group of seniors who just really want to play,” said head coach Peggy Hess.

Focus: “Fundamentals,” said Hess. “We’re adding in our defense and offense and then just conditioning.”

Captains: Kamiak seniors defender Gillian Gamoke, midfielder Melanie Rizzotti and attacker Cheyenne McManus.

“It’s going great,” said the captains. They said they are excited about having so many new girls on the team, who all are picking up the game quickly.

They said this season they’re focusing, not so much on the overall wins and loss record, but on growing as a team, and leaving a legacy to the younger players, hoping they stay excited about playing.

Game to watch: Snohomish and Roosevelt, which the Knights will play on Senior Night.

“Snohomish is a other team that’s always tough,” said Hess. “Roosevelt is another rival, they are excited to play on senior night.”

Mukilteo will play Snohomish on April 3 at Glacier Peak High School and will face Roosevelt on April 29.
