Mukilteo runner earns national cross country honors | Sports brief

Mukilteo native and California Baptist University junior Bryton Reim recently earned several cross country honors for his work this season.

Reim finished in first place in the PacWest Championship race in Novato, Calif. He finished in 26 minutes even, in the 8k event, racing against 69 other runners. The Lancers also won their third straight PacWest men’s cross country championship.

He was also named the men’s runner and newcomer of the year for the 2013 season, as well as National Athlete of the Week. Reim has also been named a member of the All-Conference team, earning a first-team honor.

Reim, who graduated from Kamiak High School, ran at Kamiak and with Everett Community College for two seasons.
