Mukilteo student signs to play college softball | Sports brief

Mukilteo resident and Archbishop Murphy High School student Gemma Miller signed her letter of intent on Wednesday, Nov. 13 to play softball at the University of South Carolina Upstate.

Miller was offered an athletic scholarship at the Division I school with a successful softball season.

Last season the Spartans team made it's first ever post season NCAA tournament appearance, after finishing first in the nation in defense.

Miller, who plays short-stop, grew up going to Mukilteo's Serene Lake Elementary and Olympic View Middle School.

She started played softball in the Mukilteo Little League program.
