New comedy night for Snohomish County comedians

Apr 25, 2012

Local stand-up comedian Cory Michaelis is hosting an Everett Comedy Night at Chopstix Dueling Piano Bar in Everett. An 8 p.m. show on Sunday, May 6, is the first of a monthly comedy night to be held the second Sunday of the month.

“For several months I have been planning the launch of a comedy show/night in Snohomish County,” Michaelis said. “Everett Comedy Night will work to develop new Snohomish County-based comics by giving them stage time.”

The show features the best local and touring stand-up comedians seen on Comedy Central and late night talk shows.

The first month's headliner is Gabriel Rutledge, winner of the Seattle Comedy Competition and appearances on Comedy Central, Bob and Tom Radio, and the Las Vegas and Great American Comedy festivals.

Michaelis, of Everett, will host and invite several guests and a professional headliner to every show.

The show is all ages (18+ advised) and will offer audiences an hour and a half of stand up comedy in a setting with the “feel of a top-notch stand-up comedy club,” Michaelis said.

Tickets are $5. Tickets can be purchased in advance at http://everettcomedynight.ticketleap.com/everett-comedy-night and at the door.

Chopstix Dueling Piano Bar is at 2820 Oakes Ave. in Everett.
