New dentist office offers Botox treatments
There’s now a dentist office in Old Town where you can get fillings for your teeth and Botox for your wrinkles.
Dr. Jennifer Voke has opened the new office Jennifer Voke, DDS Total Facial Esthetics at 315 Lincoln St., Ste. D1, which offers family and cosmetic dentistry, Botox and skin care.
A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17. The office opened in April.
Voke, of Mukilteo, with the help of her staff, is focused on helping her patients put their best face forward – with healthy and beautiful teeth, skin and smile.
“I’ve found that the only part of dentistry that people want to have done are things that they can see in the front of their mouth, so to add the whole element of the facial esthetics and the skin, it all kind of goes together,” Voke said.
In addition to Botox and derma fillers, Voke’s office offers chemical peels, facial waxing, dermal planing, wrinkle correction, European facials and more by a licensed medical esthetician.
“If someone has three fillings in the back of their teeth, and if they also want to get the wrinkles around their face fixed with derma filler or Botox, too, because they’re numb, that can be done at the same time,” Voke said.
Voke and her staff strive to improve their patients’ self-esteem and confidence. The office also offers free nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, and all of the dental chairs are also massagers, so that patients feel better all around.
“We’re proud to do that,” said Lindsey Pierce, a licensed medical esthetician.
“There really is an art to it. I think that’s my favorite part of working with Jennifer, too, is that she’s into that as much as I am, which is awesome because most doctors don’t care.”
Voke, originally from Alaska, has never been a fan of going to the dentist. In fact, she quit going altogether after leaving for college in 1993.
She was a bartender in Seattle with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Washington when her lack of professional dental care and sporadic flossing habits caught up with her. She developed excruciating pain in one of her molars.
At first, she refused to go to a dentist – she even begged a friend to pull her tooth so she wouldn’t have to go – but eventually she caved and made an appointment for an emergency root canal.
During her root canal, the dentist spoke of the high level of artistry involved in his work. Knowing she didn’t want to be a bartender forever, she decided to pursue a career in dentistry.
“I am not a fan of going to the dentist, but I love the artistic part of dentistry,” she said. “It’s about restoring or making better of what you have.”
In 2005, Voke graduated from the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. She has received honors for her clinical achievements, including an award for clinical excellence from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
Before opening her own office, Voke worked in dental and public health clinics in New Mexico. She also worked as an associate dentist at a clinic in Silver Lake.
When she found the Old Town location, she knew she was home.
“I found this spot that was really unique, and it was the first time I saw myself doing something like this,” she said. “I imagined what it could look like.”
Lindsey Pierce, of Lake Stevens, is highly trained in customized facial esthetic services and skin treatments. She graduated from the Euro Institute of Skin Care in 2005, a prestigious school in Renton. She worked for a well-respected plastic surgeon in Kirkland for eight years.
“Gene Juarez, who is actually a good family friend, wanted to get me into hair, but I said ‘No way,’” Pierce said. “I’ve always had a passion for skin. I just love to change it, transform it.”
Total Facial Esthetics is open Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday by appointment. Call 425-212-9334 to schedule an appointment or go to www.vokedds.com for more information.
