No contest: Tessandore best for judge | Letter

Oct 19, 2016

Editor, The Beacon:

With the most legal and judicial experience, Rico Tessandore is the best choice for Snohomish County Superior Court judge.

He is the only candidate with a balanced perspective and a decade of work as a judge pro tem. He dedicated himself to working in our justice system from all sides – prosecutor, defense attorney, civil litigator and business owner.

Rico is the past president of our Snohomish County Bar Association and the past president of the Sno-Isle Libraries Board of Trustees.

He is the only candidate in the race to receive a Washington Women Lawyers award and the only one to have the endorsement of all the women on the Superior Court bench.

Rico is ranked No. 1 in this year’s poll of attorneys and judges: He is recognized as the candidate with the most integrity, humility and determined work ethic.

Rico is the only candidate to receive the highest rating by several Minority Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Committees of “exceptionally well qualified.”

In contrast, his opponent has declined to be evaluated and is also mired in scandal.

Rico is the most widely endorsed: He is the first Superior Court candidate in over 40 years to have the endorsement of both the Snohomish County Democratic and Republican parties.

As a prosecutor, Rico kept our community safe. As a defender, he protected constitutional rights. As a civil litigator, he understands our needs. He has proven this over 10 years as a judge pro tem.

Join thousands of your neighbors, both Democrats and Republicans, and over 31 local judges by voting for the most qualified candidate.

Yana Taskar,
