Odyssey Elementary locks down during manhunt
Odyssey Elementary went into lockdown this afternoon due to a manhunt in the Lake Stickney area.
Snohomish County sheriff's deputies were searching for a burglar in the Lake Stickney neighborhood, said Shari Ireton, spokesperson for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
A 41-year-old man was found and taken into custody around 3:15 p.m. and school was able to dismiss at 3:30 p.m.
Around 2 p.m. a homeowner in the 1500 block of Lake Stickney Drive interrupted a home burglary in progress and called 911, Ireton said.
Within minutes, deputies arrived and started searching the area, which is near Odyssey Elementary, for the burglary suspect.
The Mukilteo School District notified parents that dismissal was set for 3:30 p.m. for all grades.
