One of the good guys | Letter
Editor, The Beacon:
I am supporting a very highly qualified individual for City Council and that would definitely be Ted Wheeler. He is a man of integrity, passion, compassion and sincerity.
He is knowledgeable of the facts and findings for the issues facing Mukilteo. He understands policy making, working together as a team member and making tough decisions.
He is an out-of-the-box thinker, highly respected in our community and serves from his heart.
Ted Wheeler is the kind of person that when faced with a problem will tell you it’s not a problem, but a challenge that needs a solution. I am impressed with his high level of work ethics and his people skills in building strong relationships that tend to last a life time.
I really appreciate how much Ted gives to his community currently as your Parks and Arts Commissioner chair and resides on the city’s Long Range Financial Planning team as a resident committee member. Ted took the time to get involved to learn how this city runs from the inside out.
Ted jumped in when he was needed most to help with the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival as the co-chair of Logistics, helped with the Community Garden, Japanese Gulch, and the new Tails and Trails Community Dog Park.
He jumped in with both feet firmly planted and ready with, “I’m here to help, what can I do for you?” He is running for the open seat on City Council so that he can do even more for our community.
Ted has a strong voice, sharp mind, and has displayed great leadership and teamwork with those he interacts with. He is a person that delivers on his promises for he’s proven his track record and can be trusted.
I like where Ted stands on the issues: Protecting Paine Field for Boeing and fighting commercial service all the way; finding alternatives to the ferry traffic issue which is only one way in and one way out; he will be looking for other parking relief strategies to help with the Lighthouse Park, businesses and neighbors in Old Town; and preserving the Japanese Gulch urban forestry and encouraging ways to find more funds to retain the rest of the acres without using tax dollars.
I know he will be a major asset with the waterfront redevelopment project. He’s got the people skills to be highly effective in representing you and me. Ted will be our eyes, ears and voice!
