Orchestra concert receives standing ovation | Letter

Editor, The Beacon:

Our Mukilteo Community Orchestra concert was an outstanding success thanks to you and The Beacon!

I am certain that the high attendance we enjoyed was due to The Beacon getting the word out to Mukilteo music lovers [“Orchestra concert to feature internationally renowned pianist,” front page, Nov. 13].

The turn out was stunning – all chairs filled with folks standing in the back! I estimate our crowd was 400 plus. It was a standing ovation concert!

My 87-year-old dad came out from New Jersey just for this concert, and he had tears in his eyes afterward – said Alexander and the MCO had created one of the most moving musical performances he had ever heard.

We have all been inspired and encouraged by Alexander's passion in performance. Our concert was aptly titled "The Power of Passion," and MCO can now attest to the truth of this!

We have already invited Alexander Ardakov to return next November. He will perform Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1.

Best regards and many, many thanks for supporting MCO,

Terry Preshaw,

Mukilteo Community Orchestra
