Park property shouldn’t go to private brewery | Letter
Editor, The Beacon:
Renee Ripley has it right that the Diamond Knot Brewery & Alehouse should not be permitted to increase its use of public property for private gain [“Diamond Knot lease won’t be worth it,” The Beacon, Letters, page 4, July 16].
It already is encroaching on public space in a detrimental way. Apparently, Diamond Knot was able to expand its business greatly without being required to provide additional parking. Other entities on the waterfront provide their own off-street space.
The question of alcohol in the park is another factor.
