The Snohomish County PUD has awarded a mini-grant to an eight grade science teacher in the Mukilteo School District.
Teacher James Sparks at Voyager Middle School won a grant for a field trip.
Students will take a trip to the Jackson Hydroelectric Project to learn how electricity is generated and distributed. They’ll learn the environmental considerations that were considered in its planning and construction.
The PUD awarded 10 mini-grants for science-related educational projects in several local school districts.
The grants help schools incorporate energy and water education into their curriculum for the 2013-2014 school year.
