Purchase art “Fresh off the Easel” at the Fresh Paint Art FestivalFresh Paint is a free community event presented by the Schack Art Center.
On August 18 and 19, the entire length of the Everett Marina will be turned into a huge outdoor studio and gallery lined with over 75 local artists creating, selling and demonstrating their talents at the 16th annual Fresh Paint: Festival of Artists at work.
This weekend provides a fabulous opportunity to watch glass artists Dan and Joi LaChaussee, Merrilee Moore, as well as Mariusz and Dorota Rynkiewicz demonstrate at the outdoor Hot Shop.
You could also create your own fused glass masterpiece with Janet Foley, watch Steve Dalton throw a ceramic pot, get a photography lesson from Randall Hodges, and visit with wood turners, welders, silversmiths, painters, printers, weavers, and many more artists in action as you stroll down the waterfront promenade.
On the Saturday morning of Fresh Paint, the 5th annual Float Find will take place on nearby Jetty Island.
Kick off your shoes and walk this sandy beach in search of your very own glass sea float. Visitors may take the ferry from the 10th Street Park to Jetty Island starting at 8:30 a.m., but the beach will not open for this mad hunt until 10 a.m..
Float Find is free, but there will be a $3 parking fee at the 10th Street Boat launch where the Jetty Island Ferry is docked.
NEW! If you didn't find a float at the Jetty, or are more interested in making one yourself, stop by the Schack and make your own in the hot shop!
Come to the Schack Art Center on either Saturday August 18, or Sunday August 19 for the Make It Now: Glass Fishing Float event!
This weekend students are welcome to work alongside instructors to take home their very own personalized glass float!
The event is for ages 13 and up and charges do apply. Pre-registration suggested.
