Holly Ellis was named the Mariner High School December Student of the Month by the South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club.

Holly, a Mariner senior, was nominated for the award by the Mariner High School teaching staff. Holly was recently awarded a plaque by the club for her dedication to the classroom and leadership.

While at Mariner, she has immersed herself in all aspects of the school – the spirit, the sports, the arts and the academics.

Along with taking many difficult courses and maintaining an excellent GPA, she has been on the softball and volleyball teams as well as participating in student mentoring, Key Club and orchestra.

As one of her teachers said, “she leads through examples of hard work, commitment, and passion.”

Upon graduation, Holly will most likely attend Pacific Lutheran University and wants to pursue a career in education.
