The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club has named ACES High School senior Faisal Thalib its Student of the Month for April 2017.

Thalib, 19, was born in Saudi Arabia before coming to the United States as a young boy. He lives with his mom, dad and three sisters. His oldest sister, age 22, is a certified nursing assistant. His younger sisters attend Horizon Elementary School and Voyager Middle School.

Thalib transferred to ACES from Mariner High School in his junior year. He said he has found that the smaller class environment has helped him improve his grades, and he appreciates the extra help he has received from his teachers at ACES.

Thalib was enrolled in Sno-Isle Tech’s Fire Service Technology Program, but has been more focused on their Search & Rescue program because he would like to help people in difficult and dangerous situations.

Thalib enjoys playing video games like “Battlefield” and going to the gym to work out.

After graduation from ACES in June, Thalib is eager to find a job and get to work, as going to college is not in his immediate future. He is interested in a short-term training program to help him get started.
