Russian Romance launches EPO season

Oct 10, 2013

The Everett Philharmonic Orchestra opens the season with Russian Romance on Saturday, Oct. 12.

The evening from 7-9 p.m. begins with the ever-popular overture Russian and Ludmilla, followed by James Garlic’s inspiring interpretation of Prokofiev’s D Major Violin Concerto.

Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony highlights the evening. Long before Star Wars, Tchaikovsky dealt with his personal “Duel of the Fates.”

The composer brings listeners to a glorious triumph, but only after intense struggles are heard in beautiful and heroic episodes.

Concert-goers are welcome to join EPO Music Director & Conductor Dr. Paul Elliott Cobbs for a Stage Side Chat at 6 p.m. It will enhance your enjoyment of the concert and equip you to impress your friends with the inside scoop you will gain.
