On February 14, 2014 The Western Washington University Sanford Hill Concert Series will present Jonathan Biss, an acclaimed pianist who turned heads with his solo performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City at the young age of 30. His history with the hall goes much farther back than just his personal performances so if you'd like to read more follow the links at the end of the entry. Jonathan Biss recently released Volume III of his rendition of Beethoven's 32 sonata cycles on January 14. His goal is to reach completion by 2020. In regards of Beethoven's influence on him, Biss explained," Beethoven’s sonatas have been a constant presence in my life for nearly as long as I have been playing the piano. “Presence” is too mild a word, though: “force” comes a bit closer to conveying the space he occupies in my heart and head. When he comes to WWU, Mr. Biss will perform pieces by Brahms, Beethoven, Chopin and Kurtag. This concert is sure to satisfy all tastes and desires so please make sure you don't miss out! Ticket prices are 9$ for Students 18$ for Faculty/Seniors and 24$ for Adults. If you want any further information on location, directions or parking please visit wwu.edu/music
