Recognized three students for their outstanding achievement. Honored were Wilsoni Vasukilakeba of Mariner High School, Jonathan Martinez of Picnic Point Elementary, and Dylan Najera of Horizon Elementary.
Elected school board officers for the next year. Judy Schwab was reelected to serve as board president and Mike Simmons was reelected to serve as the vice president.

The extension will increase the total appropriations in the school district’s 2012-13 Transportation Vehicle Fund budget and will allow the levy funds to be spent during the current school year.
Adopted the use of Kids at Work by Russell Freedman and Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson for fifth grade reading and of Streams to the River, River to the Sea by Scott O’Dell for use in fourth grade reading and writing.
Approved a revision to Board Policy 2166 (Gifted and Talented Programs).
