School board report for Oct. 22
During its meeting on Oct. 22, the Mukilteo School Board did the following:
Heard staff reports about and discussed the following: the school district’s special education early childhood services, the impact of the McKinney-Vento Act on the school district, a proposed revision to Board Policy 2410 (High School Graduation Requirements), and the proposed deletion of Board Policy 2410A (High School Graduation Requirements – Graduating Class of 2011 and 2012).
During a school dialogue session held at Mariner High School before the regular business meeting, school board members heard a presentation about the school’s focus on increasing student-to-student and student-to-staff connections and its effort to touch the lives of every student so that nobody falls through the cracks and everyone has a chance to be successful in life. The discussion included information about Mariner’s school improvement plans and student participation in athletics and student clubs, and student presentations about a Know Thyself project and on service leadership.
