Sheriff Lovick resigns
John Lovick has resigned as Sheriff of Snohomish County, immediately following his appointment as County Executive by the County Council earlier today.
Per Sheriff’s Office policies, Undersheriff Tom Davis is acting Sheriff.
The County Charter stipulates that the council has 60 days to select an individual who will serve as Sheriff until election in fall 2014.
“I know and trust the Council to choose a leader for this organization who will continue to serve our county at the highest level, with integrity and pride,” said Lovick. “It has been a tremendous honor to serve as Sheriff.”
