Shorewood beats Mariner | Prep wrestling
The Mariner wrestling team hosted a home meet against Shorewood on Thursday, Dec. 12. The Marauders lost 41-35 to the Thunderbirds.
Mariner’s Aro Martinez beat Rhaya Samson by 13-2 major decision to win the 106-weight class, while Anthony Carrillo won the 113 division by forfiet, as did teammate Tristin Huggins in the 120-weight class.
JJ Walker pinned Abel Tesfamarian in 1:57 to win the 126 division, while teammate Darius Brown was pinned in 15 seconds in the 132 weight class.
Conner Douglas lost his 138 match to Edom Tesfaye by pin in 1:58, and Ramon Ozuna lost to Erik Harris Uldell in the 145 division by technical fall 16-1.
Kyle DiLeonardo was pinned by Braden Halloway in 2:55 in the 152-weight class, Jermaine Bradley was pinned by Nathan Lee in 1:56 in the 160 division, and Kane Gonzales was pinned by Riley Porter in 4:18 in the 170 match.
Chris Best beat Sam Dedinski by 10-3 decision in the 182-weight class and Edgars Plornish beat Ivan Valiente by tehcnical fall 19-3 to win the 195 division. Daniel Quin beat Esteban Zenteno 16-0 by technical fall in the 220 weight class and Francisco Flores lost the 285 match by pin in 3:05.
Mariner is now 3-1 this season and will take part in the Wilfong Classic in Puyallup on Saturday, Dec. 14 beginning at 9 a.m.
