Stabbing victim killed
At approximately 6 a.m. today, Edmonds Police units responded to a report of a disturbance in the parking lot of the QFC at 22828 100th Ave. W.
While en route, officers were provided a description of a vehicle seen leaving the area that may have been associated with the incident.
According to Jim Lawless of the Edmonds Police Department, the first officers on scene at the QFC located an adult male victim who appeared to have been stabbed. That person subsequently died at the scene, Lawless said.
Another officer, who had been en route to the original call, located the described vehicle at 15th Avenue West and 8th Place in Edmonds.
The vehicle was occupied by an adult male and an adult female; both appeared to have been involved in some sort of altercation.
Both subjects were taken into custody and the male was transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries that he had at the time he was stopped.
Numerous witnesses, as well as the two in-custody suspects, have been interviewed in connection with this investigation.
At this point, it appears that all of the involved parties were known to one another and are accounted for, and no other individuals were involved in the altercation, Lawless said.
Both suspects will be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of 2nd Degree Murder and 1st Degree Robbery. The identity of the victim will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office per their protocol.
