Starbucks and Seahawks team up for A Better Seattle
Starbucks patrons at local Western Washington stores can donate to Seahawks coach Pete Carroll's A Better Seattle this week as part of a new partnership between the two.
The Hawks and Starbucks have teamed up for a one-week campaign, accepting donations to help develop young leaders through A Better Seattle. The Starbucks Foundation donated $50,000 in an initial grant to the campaign.
A Better Seattle, headed by Carroll, works with Seattle area kids to reduce gang violence by creating public-private partnerships to help at-risk youth to take control of their lives and strive for better futures.
ABS has worked with the YMCA of Seattle's Alive and Free street outreach team which serves youth impacted by gangs, violence and the juvenile justice system.
Seahawks fans and Starbucks customers can donate online at www.abetterseattle.com or at local Starbuck stores until Tuesday, Oct. 29.
