Take the bus to the Evergreen State FairCommunity Transit buses stop near the west entrance gate
Community Transit is the easiest way to get to the Evergreen State Fair, with a special stop adjacent to the west entrance.
The fair runs Aug. 22 through Sept. 2 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe. The fairgrounds are served by Community Transit Routes 270 and 275 Mondays through Saturdays. Community Transit does not operate on Sundays or Labor Day.
Free parking is available at Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave., and at the Snohomish, Sultan and Gold Bar park & rides.
Between Everett and Monroe, there is a Route 270 or 275 bus every 30 minutes on weekday mornings and evenings, and hourly service in the middle of the day. The last bus to Everett leaves the fairgrounds at 8:43 p.m.
On Saturdays, Route 275 between Everett and Monroe runs every hour starting at 7:05 a.m. The last trip to Everett leaves the fairgrounds at 6:09 p.m.
Check the Bus Plus schedule book or visit www.communitytransit.org for exact trip times.
Taking the bus to the fair is cheaper than a funnel cake - and less fattening, too. While fair parking costs $8 to $10, bus fare is $2 for adults, $1.50 for kids ages 6 to 18, and $1 for people with a reduced fare permit. Children 5 and under are free.
If you pay with cash, you must pay for each trip. If you need to take more than one bus to get to the fairgrounds, the best value is to use an ORCA card, which gives you transfer credit for the fare you’ve already paid for up to two hours.
ORCA cards may be purchased online at www.orcacard.com or in person at Everett Station and your local Safeway or QFC store.
