Task Force warrant leads to stolen guns
The Snohomish County Regional Drug and Gang Task Force Thursday night recovered several stolen weapons – including what appears to be a fully-functional 20 mm anti-tank/sniper rifle – after serving a search warrant on a storage unit in Everett.
According to Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Shari Ireton, probable cause for the search was established after a 38-year-old male was arrested by the Task Force yesterday for attempted delivery of a controlled substance.
During the arrest, about 1 pound of meth and ½ pound of heroin were seized, along with three handguns (two of which were stolen) and about $40,000 in cash, Ireton said. The male was booked into the Snohomish County jail Thursday night on $250,000 bail.
When the Task Force searched the storage locker at the 3800 block of Smith Avenue earlier Thursday afternoon, they recovered 12 military assault rifles, five of which were confirmed stolen, and the anti-tank rifle.
