Thank you for supporting food drive | Letter

Nov 20, 2013

Editor, The Beacon:

Over the past couple of weeks, Kamiak High School held a food drive to support the Mukilteo Food Bank.

Through support from Kamiak students, shoppers at QFC, and the Mukilteo community, Kamiak was able to raise an incredible amount of food and money: 13,398 pounds of non-perishable food items and $1,100 was donated to the Food Bank.

Kamiak would like to thank the wonderful Mukilteo community for its contributions and support.

Many times, strangers and peers were kind enough to purchase Starbucks hot chocolate for the students standing outside of QFC on cold fall days.

Shoppers who planned to only purchase a bag of chips often took the time to pick out cans and specific items that the Food Bank is in need of.

We were overwhelmed by Mukilteo's will to give back, and we would just like to send a very excited thank you to everyone who donated.

Sincerely,

Kamiak Students and Leadership Class,

Margaret Slack and Food Drive Team (Molly McEachern, Britt Carlson, Katy Hamill, Drew Blacksmith)
