Editor, The Beacon:

Election day is now behind us and the results are official.

I would like to thank all those who went into action and voted, as every single one of your votes made a huge difference in all the races.

Thank you to all those who believed and trusted in me, and helped me lead with 26 votes. I could not have won this race without you.

I will work hard as a team member with all my strength and integrity to make sure that your voice counts and you are well represented.

The city of Mukilteo is a wonderful community; the residents take pride in their homes and their neighborhood environments. Working together, we can continue to ensure that the City Council also plays its part in maintaining and improving our city and its beauty.

For those of you who stood by me and supported me – thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am very grateful for the trust you have placed in me.

I look forward to serving the entire Mukilteo community and will keep a special eye on those with a fixed income, helping business owners and economic development thrive, and promoting volunteer activism.

Thank you to Ewa, my beautiful bride, for all of your extra love and support during these past few months.

I would like to wish all of you a very happy and heartwarming Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Ted Wheeler,

Mukilteo City Council-elect
