Thanks to helpers, playground is back | Letter
Editor, The Beacon:
On Jan. 11, in the wind, rain and mud, about 30 community volunteers came out to help install the new playground equipment at 92nd Street Park.
I would like to personally thank all of you that helped make this project possible. Your commitment to the community is what makes this a city of optimism and innovation!
The city received a parks grant from Snohomish County to resurface a portion of the Big Gulch Trail and replace the aging playground equipment at 92nd Street Park.
The trail work was completed this past fall and with the help of volunteers the playground equipment was replaced this past weekend.
In addition to the county grant, Buell Recreation Park & Playground Products out of Bothell, supplemented the project budget with a “Playground For Kid’s Grant.”
Thank you also to the Parks and Arts Commission for helping to select the equipment that fits so nicely into the look and feel of 92nd Street Park.
Next time you are driving by the Park, stop and have a look; it is with great support from our community volunteers – Kiwanis, Rotary, Bank of America, Buell Recreation, White River Fence and others – that makes us a better city.
