Nov 07, 2013

Traxx Indoor Raceway in Mukilteo is hosting its third annual “Race Against Hunger” food drive.

Traxx in Mukilteo will be collecting donations again this year for the local Mukilteo Food Bank this holiday season. Last year it received 400 pounds of food. Traxx’s goal is to receive more than 500 pounds this year.

Customers who bring in at least three non-perishable items will, in return for their generosity, receive a 20 percent discount on any races that day.

Items currently needed by the Mukilteo Food Bank include:

• Baby diapers, food, formula and wipes

• Cooking oil

• Canned fruits

• Canned soups and stews

• Canned protein items (tuna, corned beef hash, chili, peanut butter – especially crunchy)

• Soy milk/rice milk

• Vegetarian items (tofu, canned beans, soups, chili)

• Pasta and rice

• Canned vegetables (pasta sauce, peas, olives)

Donations will be accepted through Nov. 20. Clean out your cupboards, check out the grocery sales, and bring your items down to Traxx at 4329 Chennault Beach Rd. in Mukilteo.
