United Way offers free tax help | School brief

Jan 29, 2014

Do you know of someone who would benefit from having their taxes prepared for free? United Way’s 2014 Free Tax Preparation sites are now open through April 15.

Anyone who made less than $52,000 in 2013 is eligible to have their taxes prepared by a qualified United Way volunteer and e-filed for free.

Last year, more than $2 million in tax credits and refunds were received by community members because of the program. That money, in turn, benefitted the local economy.

Six tax sites are available throughout Snohomish County, including Everett, Lynnwood, Marysville and Monroe.

Services are available on a first-come, first-served basis and fill up fast. Those inquiring should arrive early.

For details, site locations, addresses and hours of operation go to http://www.uwsc.org/freetaxpreparationcampaign.php.
