Vietnam vets take a seat in 'Thud' one more time | Photos
Veterans Fred Schleich and Steve Fischman sit in the cockpit of a historic Republic F-105 Thunderchief during Vietnam Day on Sept. 10. The F-105 was a supersonic fighter-bomber flown by U.S. Air Force pilots in the war.
Vietnam Day at Flying Heritage Collection brought the 1960s back to life. The Paine Field event featured static displays, kids activities, a '60s cover band and the unveiling of FHC's newest artifact.
Schleich was a bomber pilot and Fischman was an electronics weapons officer with the F-105 while serving in the Vietnam War. Both of their names are painted on the FHC plane.
