Vote for a better Mukilteo | Letter
Editor, The Beacon:
When I moved to Mukilteo 10 years ago, I saw Terry Preshaw at a Mukilteo City Council meeting. I was very impressed by her presentation to the council. She had correct, clear and informative facts as pertaining to the item on the council agenda.
That was 10 years ago this week. Since then, I have come to know Terry better as a caring community volunteer and activist for all the things that have made Mukilteo a better place to live.
Some of the highlighted community projects she has taken a leadership role in her 20 years an active volunteer include:
• Past public relations officer (2004-2009) and president ( 2010- 2011) of the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival Board
• Founder and current board member of the Mukilteo Community Orchestra
• Pro bono counsel for non-profit community groups in Mukilteo and much more you can check out at www.courage4council.com.
I have had the privilege with working with Terry in various community activities and found her be very committed to each project from beginning to the end, taking time out from her busy schedule at her law firm Preshaw and Zisman in Everett.
Having attended Mukilteo City Council meetings for 10 years on a regular basis, I can say with complete confidence Terry Preshaw is no "Johnny Come Lately" being groomed by mayor Marine to rubber stamp his policies.
She is an independent thinker with a true grasp of fiscal responsibility, public safety, and other challenging issues facing Mukilteo:
Terry Preshaw is for: strong public safety, balancing the city's budget without raising taxes, developing a more responsible road maintenance program, building more sidewalks and a more transparent and accountable local government.
Terry Preshaw is against: commercial flights in and out of Paine Field and annexation (yes, it is still on the table).
Kevin Stoltz is leaving behind some big shoes to fill and Terry Preshaw is just the person!
