Woodworkers guild presents 11th annual Woodpalooza on Whidbey
The Whidbey Island Woodworkers Guild presents the 11th annual “Art + Wood = Woodpalooza” at the Whidbey Center for the Arts.
This year’s show, which runs from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1, exhibits the work by 20 of Whidbey’s best woodworkers. The free exhibition is open from noon to 5 p.m. daily. A reception will be held 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29.
You are invited to spend quality time with woodworking artisans while you experience the beauty of their creations. You’ll learn firsthand the inspiration and process that go into each artist’s work, while enjoying many scenic island views in Langley.
In 2001, the Whidbey Island Woodworkers Guild was formed to bring together the woodworking community of Whidbey. Now in its 12th year, the guild includes makers of furniture, cabinetry, architectural woodwork, turners, clock makers, sawyers, carvers, restorers, musical instrument makers, boat builders and refinishers.
The guild seeks to support professional woodworkers as well as inspire and educate the budding amateur and provide awareness of the skills available locally from its members.
