Clothes for Kids celebrates 30 years | Letter

Editor, The Beacon:

Since 1984, Clothes For Kids has helped to enhance the learning environment in Snohomish County by working to meet the clothing needs of low-income students in grades K-12.

We provide, at no cost to families, a complete school wardrobe – including a warm winter coat, underwear, socks, shoes and everything in between – in a retail store setting.  The only thing that is missing is a cash register.

Last school year, Clothes For Kids provided 4,206 wardrobes to low-income students throughout Snohomish County, representing nearly a 10 percent increase over the previous year.

More than a fourth of that county-wide number were for students from the Mukilteo School District.

In celebration of our upcoming 30th anniversary, Clothes For Kids will be hosting monthly Open House events the first Wednesday of each month. The next Open House will be next Wednesday, Dec.4 at 7:30 a.m.

Join us for light refreshments, a tour of our facility, and the chance to learn more about our program from volunteers, staff and board members. Please RSVP to or call 425-741-6500 so we can be sure to save you a spot!

The goal of our organization is to make a difference in the lives of the children we serve one wardrobe at a time.  And we depend on caring and compassionate advocates in our community to help us achieve that goal.

Clothes For Kids is located at 16725 52nd Ave. W., Suite B, in Lynnwood.

Thank you and best regards,
