Kamiak won its third straight Wesco 4A girls tennis match with a 5-1 decision over district rival Mariner Monday, April 2, at Mariner High School.

The Knights improved to 3-1 in the league and 5-1 overall.

Haley Gilbert, Leah Robinson and My Nguyen all won their singles matches with the Knights’ doubles teams – Jiamae Wang/Sabrina Lin, Joy Mun/Dayawant Tiwana and Kim Nguyen/Jennifer Han also posting victories.

The Marauders’ lone victory was at No. 1 singles with Winnie Chen prevailing after Angela Lee had to default due to an illness. The two had split the first two sets with Lee taking the first set 6-4 and Chen nabbing the second 6-3.

Lee, Gilbert and Robison all have posted winning records this season.

“The doubles have shown strong play as well,” Bloemker said.
