Age is just a number, right? | Chamber Corner

Age may be just a number, but if you’re talking about wine, craft brew or distilled spirit, then age does indeed matter.

The Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce will host the first Cheers! Mukilteo event from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, on the Strato Deck at the Future of Flight.

This delightful evening will feature eight wineries: Chloe Wines, Duck Pond & Desert Wind, Castello Banfi Wines, Freixenet Sparkling Wines, Skyfall Wines, E&J Gallo and Double Canyon Wines.

Sparkle Donkey Tequila, Alaskan Distillery Spirits, and Tatoosh Spirits will offer intriguing flavors with a variety of distilled offerings. Diamond Knot Craft Brewery also will be on hand to pull old favorites and new tastes.

As tastings go, whether you are a wine enthusiast, have a passion for a full-bodied brew or enjoy sipping a finely crafted spirit, wandering around the Strato Deck with your beverage of choice and enjoying the view will be well worth it.

Jimmy Mac’s Roadhouse, Garlic Jim’s and other local eateries will be adding flavor to the evening with complimentary light bites and nibbles.

Finally, to round out the evening, attendees will enjoy the sounds of IvyLane, with their acoustic guitar and lilting vocals.

In years past, the Mukilteo chamber hosted a combined Business Showcase and Wine Tasting, but this year we’ve changed directions.

We launched an extremely successful Health & Wellness Fair in February. To dovetail with that event, the inaugural Cheers! Mukilteo, a wine/craft brew/distillery tasting event, will be in lieu of April’s Business After Hours.

This networking event allows both chamber and community members to enjoy an evening of relaxation, social engagement and a chance to sample and perhaps purchase some of their favorite aperitifs.

The Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce proudly introduces the presenting sponsor of Cheers! Mukilteo: Ivar’s of Mukilteo Landing, a Pacific Northwest legacy.

Ivar’s is an award winning-dining destination with an over 75-year tradition of excellent seafood.

Ivar Haglund, one of Seattle’s most recognized figures had a quip, “Keep Clam” which mirrors a pop culture reference today, “Keep Calm and Carry On.”

The Mukilteo Ivar’s down near the ferry terminal is a well-loved and perennially busy local eatery frequented by both residents and those passing through.

Tickets are $20 each. A $5 discount is available for attendees who pre-pay online. Purchase tickets through the chamber’s website – they are not sold through their office.

Online sales will close on April 13, but tickets at the door will be available for $25. To pre-pay, go to http://mukilteochamber.org/cheers/.

The Future of Flight is at 8415 Paine Field Blvd. in Mukilteo.
