Annual Easter Egg Hunt returns April 20

Apr 10, 2019

The 41st annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 20 at the Mukilteo Elementary and Olympic View Middle School fields.

The annual event is traditionally organized into three different age groups: children 2 years old and younger, children aged 3 to 6, and children 7 to 10.

After last year’s event, Jim Mewbourn, president of the Mukilteo Firefighters Union, said the eggs were snatched up essentially in the blink of an eye.

“The 4,000 eggs were picked clean in under two minutes,” Mewbourn said.

Some lucky attendees found eggs with prize claim tickets, and got to leave the egg hunt not only with loads of candy, but with a brand new toy as well.

The egg hunt is hosted each year by the Mukilteo Firefighters Union with funds from fundraisers and a community support grant from the city of Mukilteo.

The event also accepts donations for the Mukilteo food bank as well.

The hunt begins at 10:30 a.m. and will happen rain or shine.

Mukilteo Elementary School’s address is 2600 Mukilteo Speedway.
